Instructions

Welcome to my minecraft server! Here are the instructions to help you get started.

1. Uninstall WinRAR.
2. Download and install the latest Minecraft Forge that is compatible with 1.18.2
3. Download this zip file.
4. Unpack the file into your minecraft directory. On Windows, this defaults to %appdata%/.minecraft. In Linux it should be at ~/.minecraft. In Mac, this is ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft.
5. Launch the Minecraft launcher. Make sure Forge is selected near the lower left corner.
6. Click the "Installations" tab near the top, then click your Forge installion and "More Options". You should see "JVM ARGUMENTS" starting with -Xmx2G. Increase the 2 to a 6 or 8 so the line looks something like this "-Xmx8G -XX:+UnlockExperimentalVMOptions -XX:+UseG1GC -XX:G1NewSizePercent=20 -XX:G1ReservePercent=20 -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=50 -XX:G1HeapRegionSize=32M". This will increase the amount RAM dedicated to minecraft.
7. Leave the menu and launch the game.
8. Click, Multiplayer --> Add Server and enter "minecraft.madscientist235.com". Click done and join the server!
